Despite the widespread destruction caused by Hurricane Melissa, show promoter Donovan 'Conscious' Anderson is determined to move forward with the staging of Legends Are Forever, set for November 29 in Clarendon.

"The show must go on," he said. "The people need entertainment, they need distraction and a temporary diversion from the disaster. We have to pick up ourselves as Jamaicans and trod on."

The Legends Are Forever concert will take place at the Staford Block Factory in Summerfield, Clarendon, featuring an impressive lineup of musical heavyweights such as Capleton, Tony Rebel, Frisco Kid, Lutan Fyah, and Junior Reid.

"We will have 14 artistes on the event, all of them are legends. Legends never die, legends are always forever," Anderson said.

This marks the first staging of the event, which will also include a six-a-side football competition, a cookout, and a kids' fun day. Other standout performers include Errol Dunkley, Admiral Tibet, Natty King, Peter Metro, Nitty Kutchie, Little John, Mikey General, Junior Cat, and Apache Scratchy.

Capleton expressed his excitement about returning to Clarendon for the show.

"Clarendon is one of my favourite places to perform. Remember the days of Coco Tea Ram Jam, Denbigh show grounds and Island Explosion? So ah good while now the people dem no see me, so I am looking forward to this performance at this event organised by Conscious," Capleton said.

Anderson, the head of Conscious International Productions, is no stranger to live music production. Over the past 20 years, he has honed his craft as a senior production member for major shows such as Rebel Salute, Red Rose for Gregory, and St Mary Mi Come From. Earlier this year, he also helped produce a concert in Canada under the Kings of Kings banner.

"I really love events productions, taking live music to the people. Capleton is one of the biggest legends in music and he is coming to give an outstanding performance at this Legends Are Forever," he added.
