Man escapes machete and gun attack in St Thomas
First chopped with a machete, then later dodging bullets, a St Thomas man faced nothing but attacks on his life by one attacker in his own community.
Police have charged 25-year-old Jason Wynter of Prospect Main Road with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorized possession of ammunition, and unlawful wounding.
Reports are that around 10:oo a.m. on Friday, July 25, Wynter allegedly attacked the victim with a machete, striking him on the left side of his head. The man was treated at a medical facility and released.
Later that day, the same man confronted Wynter again. It is alleged that Wynter then pulled a firearm and opened fire, but the victim escaped unharmed.
Wynter was taken into police custody and formally charged. His court date is being arranged.
